Skipper Mike Wilson
Mike is an extremely experienced skipper and fisherman who has spent the best part of 20 years working on the ocean. Spending the early part of his career working on commercial Tuna and Snapper boats enabled Mike to sit his Coastal Masters at the age of 21. Since that time Mike has amassed a huge number of hours at sea, and has experience and knowledge of New Zealand’s fishing waters that is second to none. Mike has successfully skippered a number of game fishing charters around New Zealand, and has an excellent track record of successful fishing. Whilst fishing Shiraz out of Whitianga for 3 years, Mike managed to take top boat honors and either won, or placed in every tournament fished bar one.
Mike Holds the New Zealand Coastal Masters and therefore is able to skipper charters to the Three Kings Islands. Mike also holds a diesel engineers ticket, and has been involved heavily in the maintenance and renovations carried out on Shiraz, so he really knows his way round the boat. All that experience and knowledge, plus Mike’s friendly and relaxed attitude make him a great skipper, and he will help you to make your trip an absolute success.
